Bimetal Bushing consisting of steel and aluminum using compound forging

Update:14 May
The present study explores the potential for creating hybrid bearing bushings consisting of steel and aluminum using compound forging. The heating strategy and forming process were optimized by computer modeling. The resulting forged parts were metallographically investigated to examine the quality of the bond interface. The leaded bronze layer provides excellent wear resistance and load capacity. The steel backing offers good fatigue properties. This material is recommended for oil lubricated applications.Bimetal Bearing is a new type of lubricating bearing that has both metal base and bronze sliding layer. It can withstand high load and impact, and is suitable for rotatory oscillating movement and reciprocating action. The bronze sliding surface can be machined with various oil slots and holes to suit different lubrication conditions. It is available in standard cylindrical bushings, flanged bearings, thrust washers, and wear strips.
The steel backing provides mechanical support and stability to the bronze sliding layer, which provides excellent wear resistance and load-carrying capacity. The bronze sliding layer also has lubrication pockets filled with solid lubricant, which further reduces friction. These features make them a popular choice for industrial machinery and consumer products. They are also cost-effective and durable, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. In addition, they are resistant to corrosion and can withstand extreme operating conditions. They can be used in a wide range of applications, including automotive engines and construction equipment.Bimetal bushings are a type of bearing that combines the strength of steel and the wear resistance of bronze. This design offers improved performance in high-load applications. They also resist corrosion and work well in wet environments, such as dry kiln cartwheels at lumber drying facilities. These types of bushings are often used to reduce friction between moving components and handle radial loading stress.
Unlike traditional bronze bushings, which require external lubrication and can easily crack under heavy loads, bimetallic bushings can withstand heavy loads without needing a lubricant. This allows them to operate under conditions of medium and high load, as well as vibration and low running speed. These bushings are usually made of a steel backing and sintered with copper-lead alloy. The alloy surface can be machined with various oil holes and grooves to accommodate different lubrication conditions. The sliding layer is also designed to withstand high-speed operation and vibration. Normally, they are applied in the main bearings of engine, connect-rod bushing and rocket arm bushing etc.Copper-steel bimetal bushings are a new type of bearing with a high level of friction resistance and durability. They can withstand heavy loads and shock loading conditions, while they also provide good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. These characteristics make them a reliable choice for use in seawater coolers and refrigeration and heat exchange equipment.
These bushings are characterized by a bronze layer that is sintered on the steel backing, which allows them to resist impact and vibration loads and reduce wear. They are suited for use in applications that require high load capacity, and are also resistant to oil leakage. These bushings are a popular choice for automotive applications. They are designed to withstand shock and vibration loads, and can be used in many different applications, including transmissions and truck brakes, as well as in mechanical handling and lifting equipment. They can also be used in marine and hydraulic equipment. They have a high load capacity, excellent fatigue properties, and are easy to install.
Unlike metal and bronze bushings, bimetallic bushings are resistant to a wide range of corrosive chemicals. They also have a high tolerance for vibration and temperature, making them ideal for use in harsh industrial applications. Additionally, they can save time and money by eliminating the need for manual lubrication.TCB301 is a wrapped bearing, which is backed by low carbon steel and coated with tin-lead-bronze alloy on its surface. It has a good lubrication and corrosion resistance, and is especially suitable for conditions with medium speed and high impact loads. It can be used for bushes and thrust washers of mechanical equipment. When selecting a bushing supplier, it’s important to evaluate the company’s experience, quality, and cost.
